    Pros +

    • We had a wonderful stay. It’s a little further from town but the shuttle bus got us around. It is also a short cab ride from Youkoku station. The rooms were large by Japan standards and the breakfast had a lot of variety. The best part of the hotel is the onsen onsite. Easy to get to and clean. We would love to stay here again! The staff were also very kind and patient - thank you for gently explaining all the questions for the shuttle bus.
    • Beautiful view, tatami rooms, attentive staff.
    • Good amenities for family: onsen, ping pong. Happy hour. Decent buffet (just had breakfast). V friendly staff.

    Cons -

    • The dinner was disappointing. We are not drinkers so the free flow of alcohols does not impress us.
    • Not easy to get to without a cab, which can be pricy.
    • Location is on the outskirts of Beppu (which I knew); having a car or taxi to restaurants is advisable. There is a 7-11 at the bottom of the road which we went to one night. Upper floors seem to be more recently renovated.

The beach view from our one room was great. The lobby area is really nice as well as the bar area and they have a complementary happy hour. The buffet breakfast had a lot of options! Everyone we dealt with was very helpful and very nice above and beyond our expectations!

Unfortunately, they made a mistake on our booking and we had to switch rooms each day. We were there and didn’t get our beach view for one of the days which happens to be my birthday. They went above and beyond to try to make it up to us, but it was kind of an inconvenience. As far as the hotel itself, it was very nice, especially on the lower level, but I did notice that in some of the hallways where the rooms are the carpeting was dated and looked a bit stained. It wasn’t terrible does not amazing for the way the rest of the hotel looked in the lobby and in the bar area. The pool area was already closed for the season, but it was very warm so it would’ve been nice to be able to take advantage of that.

The view of the ocean from our second room was really amazing! It was really calming and actually the western beds suited us a little better. The bar was wonderful and the happy hour we really enjoyed. It was fun to mingle with other guests. Everybody went above and beyond to accommodate us and are very friendly. The buffet was good with a lot of choices and we enjoyed trying the different foods. Especially the local food.

We had a little mixup with our room. We were supposed to have a room with an ocean view both nights, but there was a misunderstanding because we booked two rooms and only one of them was an ocean view so they mistook that neither one was. They did try to accommodate us, but it did take several hours to sort it out and we did have to change rooms each day which was a little inconvenient, but the staff was so accommodating and wonderful. It was easier to deal with.

The food is one of a kind, and the menu is huge

The sound can be heard in the other room. The flooring is dirty

The night pool was nice and breakfast was phenomenal!

A little far from the station. The shuttle bus only runs twice a day.

Perfect match! The lounge that has alcohol an non alcohol drinks included in the fee.Swimming pool with no additional charge. And swimming pool had free of charge ice cream.Very big Onsen with outside section.Gigantic choice of free flow breakfast. Perfect choice for the weekend stay with kids.

Rooms are a bit old, but it doesn’t matter.

The location and view is nice.

The airconditioning in our room isn’t working properly. It was so hot inside the room that we are forced to open the window during our entire stay. When we asked for assistance, they just gave us an electric fan. Which i did not appreciate as we have paid for a comfortable stay and yet here we are staying in a nice hotel using an electric fan ?? Another thing is the television. They have provided a Smart TV where you could supposedly access netflix and youtube. Apparently, you cannot use this unless you pay a separate amount for this service. Which i am suprised because this is the only hotel I encountered charging like this. That is absurd. This is not my first time in japan, I go to japan 4 times a year, i’ve been staying in different hotels and so far this is the worst hotel i have been to.

Good ocean view from our room... Staff were friendly and the vicinity of the hotel is clean... Breakfast was nice too...

Very good outdoor hot spring. The sunrise view is stunning. The breakfast buffet is excellent.

It’s far away from the city. It’s ok if you drive.

Very nice location, great view. Looking out of the the hotel from lobby. Huge Onsen.

I went with the classic tatami room, room are not well sound insulated. I can hear the train from outside the window, even when shut. I can hear people in the next room talking after midnight. I can hear people talking outside the hallway after midnight and early in the morning.

Highlight for me is breakfast and Onzen. Great view. Food has lots of variety but it is same menu 2 days that i stayed. Lounge for everyone is quite nice but no place to sit. Overall I am very happy I chose to stay here. We had a great time.

Parking is very far. It is up the hill so you need to have a car to come here.

If you would like to bath the onsen, the lounge, the French-Japanese breakfast buffet, and the free parking lot; all of these is here.

    10VuPosted on: 12-22-2024

Breakfast, the social time was enjoyable, everything was clean and great. the employees were very helpful.

Parking, I am used to larger spaces, and more places to park. Walking from the parking area to the lobby of the hotel when its cold. Pool area area was closed. overall was enjoyable

Breakfast and dinner buffet are very good. Food is delicious and there is a large selection.

The bathroom in the room is too small and it is difficult to maneuver around.
